Fortnite Officially Reveals Star Wars 2024 Plans

Fortnite has a wave of new Star Wars content planned across all of its connected game modes, with new missions and cosmetics being released in time for this year’s May the Fourth celebration. Fortnite and Star Wars first crossed over to promote Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker back in 2019, with the evil Emperor Palpatine announcing his resurrection in an in-game message. Character skins from the movie were also introduced, allowing Fortnite players to battle it out as Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, and Zorii Bliss.

In the years since, the worlds of Star Wars and Fortnite have come together multiple times, often to celebrate the annual Star Wars Day on May 4. There have also been collaborations to promote Disney+ Star Wars shows like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka, with popular characters from said shows being added as playable skins alongside classic Star Wars weapons like lightsabers. The aforementioned LEGO Fortnite will add a new island filled with famous Rebellion and Empire ships, where players will be able to battle Imperial forces and defend a Rebel village with lightsabers, craft new Star Wars items, and explore points of interest. Players can also unlock rewards like Builds and Decor from the Mos Eisley Set by completing mission objectives in the LEGO Pass: Rebel Adventure.

Fortnite’s 2024 Star Wars Crossover Event Encompasses All Fortnite Modes
In the traditional Fortnite Battle Royale, players can join forces with Star Wars fan favorite Chewbacca to take on the Empire in a new Camp. They will also be able to pick up Chewie’s trusty Bowcaster weapon from Imperial Chests at Stormtrooper roadblocks scattered across the Island. New reward Quests and returning gameplay include a boss battle against the infamous Darth Vader, Stormtrooper NPCs, and unlockable E-11 Blasters, which will all be available in Fortnite Battle Royale through May 14.

Star Wars fans will be able to rock out to classic songs from the Mos Eisley Cantina in Fortnite Festival’s Jam Stage starting May 3. By completing new Star Wars Quests, players can unlock a Battle Pass Level Up Reward and the Seven String Hallikset Guitar. Meanwhile, Rocket Racing is adding its own Star Wars Quests on May 3, with even more to come on May 7. These Quests have their own Battle Pass Level Up reward, along the Podracing-inspired Energy Binders Trail. Update v29.40 will add even more Quests and bonuses, including Decals inspired by Darth Maul and Anakin Skywalker’s Podracer.

Lastly, new Star Wars-themed items will be entering the Item Shop, such as the Dagobah Luke, Lando Calrissian, and AWR Trooper Outfits, the Beskar Car Body that also grants the car for Rocket League players, and the “Mad About Me” (A.K.A. “Cantina Band”) Jam Track for Fortnite Festival. All of this and more will be available to Fortnite players as part of its 2024 Star Wars collaboration, which starts later this week.
