It is good that EA’s football game secured the No.1 position for the first time in a month and a half, pushing the previous week’s bestseller, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, down to No.2 in the process.Grand Theft Auto V and Far Cry 4 were non-movers at No.3 and No.4 respectively, while Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham jumped 14 places to No.5 following retailer promotions.

The Crew was the highest new entry at No.6. The PS4 version of Ubisoft’s racing game accounted for 59 per cent of first week sales and the Xbox One edition for 33 per cent.Assassin’s Creed Unity, Minecraft Xbox Edition, Minecraft PlayStation Edition and DriveClub rounded off the top ten, while PS3 exclusive Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 Remix debuted at No.31.

With all the blockbuster releases in the past few months, it only makes sense that EA Sports’ FIFA 15 would once again be the top selling game across all platforms in the UK, right?This seems to be the case according to the latest UKIE charts courtesy of Gfk Chart-Track. It beat out Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Grand Theft Auto 5, in the second and third positions respectively, to occupy the top spot. Far Cry 4 was in fourth place while LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, a relatively fresher release, was in sixth.
The only new release to occupy the top 10 was The Crew whose physical sales on the PS4 were two-thirds of total sales. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix debuted at 31st position for the PS3.Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Minecraft: Xbox Edition, Minecraft: PlayStation Edition and Driveclub occupied the remaining spots in the top 10.
